The first concert I ever chose to go to was the Lemonheads; they'll always have a special spot in my music appreciation. Frightened Rabbit has become one of my favorite bands and Scott does a fantastic cover of "Confetti" off of "It's A Shame About Ray".

Deastro - The Shaded Forests

There are few things that make me happier than randomly stumbling onto an amazing band or song that I've never heard before. This happened today:

Finally getting to the end of Twin Peaks. I had watched a few episodes when I was in high school and never finished it. What an incredible show - despite having some of the worst actors in TV history.

The dream sequences are some of my favorite parts and I love this song. It's the ultimate in lounge music...

Dead Man's Bones...

It's been a little while. Reality intrudes on the keeping up of one's blog when it's not your whole life...

I want to hate this for the simple reason that its yet another movie actor's band. For every Zooey Deschanel there are hundreds of Jason Schwartzman's and Jared Leto's that churn out crap and yet get airtime based on who is in the band instead whether the music is good.

That said, I have to admit that these guys are actually good - despite the fact that they feature Ryan Gosling. I'm not sure exactly what he's been in besides "The Notebook"; a movie that, as a man, has required me to hate him not only for being forced to sit through it once but also for providing many girls with unrealistic fodder of what a relationship is supposed to be...

Yet I enjoy this despite all of that:
